The Barber, David Nolen, started off the weekend eve with a grandkids update featuring pickleball and pool basketball. He also leaned into a National Doughnut Day craving, which Jeremy Character answered with doughnuts and milk.

Coach Steve Giddens rode with Coach Kris Herron. Camp Giddens was in session with the grandkids in art camp this week. The guys talked about the durability of old push mowers and stomped out some ignorance around twilight, learning there are actually three different types.

Rusty Taylor joined Coach Kris Herron as they worked through a Wednesday morning. Taylor recapped his first Tuesday of the month, which included time out on the golf course. Bill “Bubba” Bussey returned to the show after some time away, and the crew caught up on what’s been going on in his world. Bubba and Taylor then hit the road while The Bone held things down in studio, with Taylor giving a play-by-play of a ride in a self-driving Tesla.

Coach Kris Herron and Coach Michael Shortt got the day started together. Shortt shared his storm story from traveling Highway 78 yesterday and the guys talked about what it’s like getting caught cutting grass in heavy winds. The Bone, Heath Stroud, checked in with his weekend update, and the crew looked back at a few Heath Highlights from days gone by.

Coach Kris Herron and Mr. Monday, Coach Jerry Weems, got a new month started on Coach & Friends. With it being the first Monday, Dr. Chip East from the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service joined the show as gardening hits its peak season. The conversation centered on tomato problems and the issues many are running into this time of year.

Mrs. Sheryl Bonner Upchurch stopped by to share memories of the 1976 Bicentennial celebration in Clay County, including a look back at the Freedom Singers, a group Dave was part of.
