SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga wide receiver DeArian “Juice” Riley announced Monday night, June 15, that he has committed to South Alabama.
The Sylacauga standout revealed his decision on X, choosing the Jaguars over a list of scholarship offers that included Charlotte, Georgia State, Jacksonville State, and several FCS programs.
The commitment came less than two weeks after an official visit to South Alabama on Friday, June 5. The Jaguars extended an offer on June 13, and he wasted little time making his choice.
After transferring from B.B. Comer, Riley emerged as one of Alabama’s top receiving threats during the 2025 season.
The Class 5A second-team All-State selection finished the year with 67 receptions for 1,127 yards and 12 touchdowns.
One of his biggest performances came against Valley, when he rewrote the Sylacauga record book. He totaled 11 catches for 224 yards, setting school records for both receptions and receiving yards in a single game.
A two-sport athlete, he also helped Sylacauga’s track and field program establish school records in both the 4×100-meter relay and the 4×400-meter relay.
According to 247Sports, Riley is listed as a hard commit, indicating he considers his recruitment closed and does not plan to take additional visits or entertain other scholarship opportunities.
While his college destination is now settled, he still has one more high school season ahead before he can make things official. The early signing period for the 2027 recruiting class begins Dec. 4, 2026.
