Coach Jerry Weems and Coach Kris Herron kicked off a brand new week. Coach Weems delivered his weekend report, and the guys discussed middle names and whether they are typically a family tradition. Heath “The Bone” Stroud checked in with the Bone Update, highlighting a busy weekend that included alumni events and a creek float that ended with a thunderstorm.

David Nolen slid into the weekend with Coach Kris Herron. The guys reacted to the idea of having the hiccups for 68 years and took a look back at some of the worst songs from the 1980s. Dave also shared a grandboy update.

Coach Steve Giddens joined Coach Kris Herron. The guys talked about the massive amount of trash produced by a house full of guests over the Fourth of July and the challenge of keeping up with it all. Fetner stopped by with muffins, and they highlighted local happenings around the area. The duo also mixed in some fun debates, including how fast you can lose, the meaning of “one-Mississippi,” and what really counts as a good putt.

The Grinder, Rusty Taylor, joined Coach Kris Herron and recapped a week of grinding it out across the Southeast. Head Coach Chance Jones stopped by the studio with members of the 10U Southeast Regional Championship team. The guys also took a look at local headlines from The Clay Times Journal.

Coach Michael Shortt was in the saddle. The guys debated what really counts as a window seat on an airplane, whether year-round daylight saving time is a good idea, celebrated a granddaughter getting her first pair of Crocs, and heard how The Bone managed to get his pocket knife confiscated at the airport.

Chance Jones, the Executive Director of the Clay County Economic Development Council, stopped by to share early estimates on the economic impact of Lineville hosting district and state softball and baseball tournaments, and to recap his Lineville 10U team’s run to the Southwest Region Cal Ripken championship in Louisiana. Heath “The Bone” Stroud also dropped in with an update from the past couple of weeks.

Weekend Eve brought David Nolen alongside Coach Kris Herron. The guys talked about a downtown water street slide in Gadsden and what something similar could look like around the square. They gave their take on Southern Living’s Restaurant of the Month with the Phillips stamp of approval. Dave gave his review of the movie “Young Washington.” Richie Farrow also stopped by, and the crew presented their idea for a “cuss bucket” at the upcoming Carey Baptist Association golf tournament.

The duo enjoyed a visit from Fetner with muffins while Stella stopped by to say hello. Ensleigh Giddens and Martel Hight were also in studio, trying to explain to the guys how they met through social media.

Nap came through with a snack for Stella, and Fetner stopped by with doughnuts to keep the crew going. Giddens shared stories from his road trip to Pittsburgh and back, while a simple task like putting on socks sparked a little extra tone from Herron at home. The conversation also turned to local events as Semiquincentennial celebrations get underway across the area. Stella closed things out with a reminder of how blessed we are to live in the United States of America.
