Eleve spa sits in the clouds adjacent to Auburn Dental Spa or at least you feel as if you’re floating on air. The soft-toned walls, the relaxing scents, the “greige” wood flooring all combine to lighten any load by taking away all stress. From the apple cinnamon water in the relaxation room to the warm towel wraps during a massage, from the plush bath robes to the complimentary use of hair dryers and toiletries, no detail is left to chance.

Owner Susie Litkenhous selected the name Eleve as it means to elevate. “We wanted to elevate spa services to an entirely different level, but also to welcome guests to elevate themselves. We want our guests to experience the spa, not just visit the spa,” says Susie.

Auburn realtor Michelle Crum calls Eleve at Auburn Dental Spa the perfect place to “break away from life without having to leave town.” Crum and five friends booked a spa day in 2017 which included treatments and spray tans as well as time between sessions to catch up in the relaxation room. “We spent about three hours total, but our services would end at different times. We’d meet up and drink champagne. The facility is as good as you’d find at any resort,” says Crum.

Wedding season is the perfect time to book Eleve spa for all bridal needs. “Being a bride and planning a wedding is a busy time, and it’s important to take time for yourself to rejuvenate and enjoy your own wedding,” says Susie.

The spa may be reserved for the day of the wedding for makeup, hair, eye lashes, spray tans and more. Or services may be extended to Auburn Dental Spa with Susie’s husband, Dr. Brad Litkenhous. “We have teeth whitening and botox for those fine lines and crow feet. We even have lip enhancements,” says Susie. Brides-to-be can reserve the entire spa to prepare for the wedding or host a private party complete with champagne and treats like chicken salad or macaroons.

The Eleve team will travel locally and also train brides on makeup application to keep the beauty flowing into the honeymoon. Susie is particular about the products used in the spa. As a mother of three girls, she selects each product with her children in mind. “This is what I put on my face and my children’s faces. I always have their interest in mind when I select the products we use.”

The spa, which opened in 2016, has a vast array of services for both men and women with separate locker rooms for each. These services include skincare, massage therapy, organic spray tan, a full-service hair salon, ear piercing and more. Product ingredients range from medicinal to organic, and Susie is as mindful about vendors as she is products. “One of our vendors plants a tree for every product purchased. So far, we have provided 10 football fields worth of trees.” In 2018, the spa will donate five percent of sales of the private Eleve label products to The Exceptional Foundation of East Alabama, a non-profit organization which serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The makeup line is Amy Head Cosmetics, a line out of Jackson, Mississippi, which strives to bring out the natural beauty of a person. The owner, Amy Head, visits Eleve with her staff to train spa employees as well to teach guests how to apply the makeup.
