America 250 Event at Southern Union in Opelika

Southern Union Celebrates America 250 on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 10 a.m. in the Southern Room on the Opelika Campus.  The event will feature keynote speaker Val Crofts, who also serves as co-chair of Alabama 250’s Education Initiative and a Commissioner on the America 250 initiative. With more than 20 years of experience as a history educator, Crofts brings a dynamic perspective to this milestone celebration.
