SYLACAUGA, Ala. – In the first match of the area volleyball tournament Thursday night at SHS, Sylacauga secured a postseason bid with a dominating performance over Talladega.
The Aggies were on fire early, taking the first set 25-6, and never looked back.
Sylacauga finished the match with wins of 25-6, 25-16, and 25-10 to take the match in straight sets.
“We did what we set out to do in the first match,’ said coach Rebecca Paterson. “We started the year with a few goals, and one of those was to make the playoffs. We just did that. Our next goal is to win the area.”
With the win, Sylacauga advances to face the winner of Shelby County and Clay County later tonight at SHS. Even more impressive, the Aggies are now 7-0 overall in area play this year.
