MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Sylacauga manhandled the Montevallo Bulldogs 68-47 behind another outstanding performance from Jordan Roberson, the Class 5A Central Regional Most Valuable Player.
It was a slow start for both teams, with the score tied at 10 after the first quarter. However, as he did in the Sweet Sixteen, Roberson provided the spark the Aggies needed. The Sylacauga guard hit a three-pointer to open the second quarter, igniting an offensive surge. Roberson added eight more points in the period as the Aggies built a 38-19 lead by halftime.
Montevallo made several attempts to rally in the second half, but Sylacauga never wavered, holding onto its double-digit lead throughout the rest of the game.
