SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Two Sylacauga brothers need the community’s help after the passing of their mother.
A GoFundMe has been created to help Jeremy and Travanti Odem, two brothers whose lives have been flipped upside down after their mother, Monique, passed away in August.
GoFundMe donations will help keep both Jeremy and Travanti in the school district along with covering other fees associated with being a student athlete in the system after their living arrangements have been shuffled.
The GoFundMe reads:
Backstory:
There is a young man you may not have met, but may have noticed if you have attended any Sylacauga City School basketball or football events in recent times. Jeremy Odem has a contagiously positive attitude and a determined work ethic. He has a smile that can light up the room and his charismatic personality is contagious to those with the chance to experience it.
Unexpected Loss:
Recently, Jeremy and his siblings unexpectedly lost their mother, Monique Odem. This has placed a burden on him and his family, and we are seeking help on his behalf. We are asking for donations to help cover the cost of school fees for Jeremy and his younger brother, Travanti Odem. The sudden loss of their mother has forced the Odem family into different living arrangements, and your donations will help to keep both Jeremy and Travanti in the school district along with covering other fees associated with being a student athlete in the system.
Community Effort:
We believe as a community that we can help each other in times like this. We want to help ease the burden Jeremy and his family are facing at this time. Any amount you can donate is tremendously appreciated.
