Jared Harper named to All-NBA G League First Team

NEW YORK – Former Auburn standout Jared Harper was named to the All-NBA G League First Team after completing the 2021 season with the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks.

The Mableton, Ga. native became the first player in the organization’s history to earn the award.

Harper, on a Two-Way Contract via the New York Knicks, concluded his second professional campaign in the NBA G League and first under the Knicks organization.

During the 2021 single-site 15-game season, Harper finished fourth in the league in scoring after averaging 21.3 points per game, which included a pair of 30-point outings in the 12 games in which he appeared.

Harper finished second in the league with 6.9 assists per game, which included four games of at least 10 dimes.

Harper shot 47.3 percent from the floor, including 40.3 percent from downtown, and 85.4 percent from the free throw line.

In three seasons as Auburn’s floor general (2016-19), Harper became one of only three guards in program history to score 1,000 points and dish out 500 assists, joining Wes Flanigan and Doc Robinson.

In addition, Harper is one of just five players in Southeastern Conference history with 1,400 points, 500 assists and 200 3-pointers in a career.

The two-time all-conference selection set the Tigers’ single season assist record with 231 dimes in 2018-19 and finished his career 511 assists, good for fifth in Auburn history.

Harper was chosen as the 2019 NCAA Tournament Midwest Regional Most Outstanding Player after averaging 17.5 points, 6.5 assists and 1.5 rebounds to go along with 44 percent from the floor in Auburn’s historic run to the Final Four.
