Lee-Scott baseball smashes Springwood, prepares for Friday matchup with Pike

AUBURN, Ala. – Capturing an early-season area win, Lee-Scott baseball hammered Springwood 16-1 to advance to 2-2-1 on the season.

Lee-Scott had back-to-back, six-run frames in the third and fourth innings to carry them to the 16-run total through only four innings at the plate.

Senior John Allers led the Warriors in hits, going 2-for-2 at the plate with a double, a triple and two walks. Allers also led the team with four RBI.

Jim Lyle received the start for Lee-Scott, going three innings with two hits and one run allowed. He finished the day with five strikeouts.

Lee-Scott will travel to Troy for a tough matchup with Pike in a double-header on Friday, Feb. 26.
