Lee-Scott girls basketball shuts down Pike with dominant fourth quarter

A 20-2 fourth quarter saw Lee-Scott girls basketball push past Pike Liberal Arts School 39-25 on Tuesday night. Lee-Scott advanced to 3-2 overall. The Warriors are 2-0 this week with a 45-42 win against Edgewood on Monday.

Junior forward Sterling Tucker led the team in scoring with 16 points on 5-for-14 shooting. Tucker filled up the stat sheet, posting a double-double performance with 11 rebounds, four assists and five steals. Tucker led the team in scoring earlier in the week with 14 points against Edgewood.

Junior forward Emma Frances Zellner was second in scoring with 10 points on 5-for-10 shooting. She added eight rebounds and eight steals to her tally.

The varsity boys team fell to Pike 66-49 to fall to 2-4 on the year. Sophomore forward Joseph Horne led the team in scoring with 11 points and six rebounds.

Lee-Scott basketball wraps up a three-game week with a road game against Evangel Christian Academy on Thursday.
