SYLACAUGA, Ala. – RadioAlabama’s MIX 106.5 & KiX 100.3 are highlighting the Best of the Coosa Valley, our tribute to the region’s finest. It’s up to MIX 106.5 and KiX 100.3 listeners to decide who is the best of the best.
Who tops the list? Listeners and readers will weigh-in by nominating their favorites and then voting on the top three finalists in each category. The winners will be recognized in several unique ways in May including a special printed magazine issue, on-air, online, and an exclusive social gathering.
RadioAlabama’s annual “Best of the Coosa Valley” awards are a roadmap to the best businesses and service providers along the Hwy. 280 corridor chosen by the residents and patrons who rely on them. From nomination to winning, it’s a BIG DEAL!
“Best of the Coosa Valley is something we have been developing for some time now,” said Michael Brannon, Executive Vice President of RadioAlabama. “We are so excited to finally unveil our “Best of” campaign for the region! This is all about expressing excitement for local businesses and the public’s voices are heard!”
Nominating and voting on your favorite business is a way to reward and honor them for coming back in 2021!
HOW IT WORKS:
Listeners will be invited to nominate what they believe to be the best ______ in multiple groups/categories for a period of several weeks. (Round 1: January 25, 2021 – February 12, 2021)
There are eight groups including:
- Arts & Entertainment
- Automotive
- Food & Drink
- Health & Fitness
- Local
- Shopping & Services
- Sports & Recreation
- Most Missed During COVID-19
Within those groups, there are more than 125 categories including:
- BBQ
- Pizza
- Locally Owned Restaurant
- Attraction
- Gym
- Pharmacist
- Non-profit organization
- Barber/Barber Shop
- Bank
- Credit Union
- Insurance Agent
- Accountant
- Gas Station
- Auto Service
- Athlete
After the nomination window has closed, the top three nominations from each category will move to the next round and voting take place. (Round 2: March 1, 2021 – March 21, 2021)
Once voting comes to a close, winners will be announced and awarded the Best in the Coosa Valley for 2021. (Round 3: May 3, 2021)
One lucky voter will receive a 50″ Smart LED TV!

The nomination and voting area of the Greater Coosa Valley area includes areas along the Chelsea fringes, focused east and west down the Hwy. 280 corridor through Childersburg and Sylacauga. This area encompasses more than 224,000 potential listeners and viewers across the MIX 106.5 and KiX 100.3 markets.
