It was not the Lady Aggies’ night in the area volleyball championship match at Shelby County High School.
SHS dropped the first set by a tally of 13-25 after SCHS started the set on a 5-to-0 run.
The Aggies, however, were not out of it. In the second set, the Aggies dominated, going on multiple 6-to-0 runs with the set ending in the Aggies’ favor, 25-14.
In the long run, SCHS was just too much. The Wildcats took the final two sets 19-25, and 23-25.
The Aggies fought hard on set 4. Neither team leading by more than three points at any time during the set.
Sylacauga’s Mackenzie Bowen and Lily Hughey were named to the All-County team.
The Aggies will travel to Mobile Saturday to take on the winner of the 5A Area 2 tournament.
