John Bodiford
John Bodiford has been in the radio business (almost) his entire life.
While in school at Auburn University, Bodiford started working weekends at WJHO-AM in Opelika. After graduation, he moved to full-time employment in the 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. slot followed by stints at WDAK-AM in Columbus, Ga., WFRI-FM in Opelika as morning DJ, and then Birmingham where he worked in radio sales for WQEZ-FM.
In 1982, he moved to Bay Minette where he managed WBCA-AM/WWSM-FM. Six years later, he relocated to Sylacauga as manager of WMLS-FM.
In 1994, Bodiford returned to Auburn-Opelika as Sales Manager of WMXA-FM and, in 2008, was promoted to General Manager of all six Qantum radio stations. In 2015, he joined Auburn Network Inc. as General Sales Manager.
Now semi-retired, he can’t bring himself to completely leave the radio business he loves and serves as a senior sales advisor for the Auburn Network’s four radio stations.
A resident of Opelika, Bodiford is a licensed pilot and enjoys flying in his free time as well as woodworking -- mostly making sawdust -- in his home wood shop.
