Social Media/Promotions Assistant (Part-time)

 

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and creative college student to join our team as a Social Media/Promotions Assistant/Intern. This part-time role offers a fantastic opportunity for the candidate to gain hands-on experience in social media management, digital promotions, and marketing. As a member of our team, the candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our brand’s online presence, engaging with our audience and clients, and assisting in various promotional activities on-location and online.

 

Duration: 2024 Spring part-time employment (approx. 3.5 months) for this special project-based position. Candidate will work an average of 15/hr per week.

 

Compensation: Candidate to be paid $10/hr for up to 15/hr per week.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Social Media Management:

– Assist in crafting and scheduling engaging RadioAlabama family social media posts across various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, etc.).

– Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions on social media channels.

– Conduct research on social media trends, popular hashtags, and industry-related content to optimize engagement.

2. Content Creation and Curation:

– Collaborate with the marketing team to create captivating visual and written content for social media campaigns.

– Curate user-generated content and create compelling stories around it to strengthen community engagement.

3. Digital Promotions:

– Assist in planning and executing promotional activities, contests, and giveaways on social media platforms.

– Track and analyze the performance of promotions to provide valuable insights for future campaigns.

5. Analytics and Reporting:

– Utilize social media analytics tools to measure the performance of social media posts and campaigns.

– Prepare regular reports on social media metrics and provide insights for improvement.

6. Market Research:

– Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitors’ social media strategies.

– Provide recommendations based on market research to optimize our social media presence.

 

Requirements:

1. Current college student pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field. For which, an internship is required/course credit given or is applicable.

2. Passion for social media, digital marketing, and staying current with emerging trends.

3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

4. Familiarity with major social media platforms.

5. Basic graphic design skills and proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.

6. Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

7. A team player with a positive attitude, creativity, and enthusiasm.

8. Understanding of social media analytics and reporting is advantageous.

9. Experience with previous social media management or promotions is preferred but not required.
