Yes, my real name is Layla! It’s on my birth certificate and everything! I was born into a music-loving family. My parents named me Layla, after the Derek and the Dominoes song, and my middle name is Michelle, after the Beatles song. Call it a self-fulfilling prophecy; I pursued a career that lets me listen to and talk about music all day.

Being on the radio is fun, and I believe that listening to the radio should be fun, too. I’m excited to bring plenty of fun and positivity to the MIX 106.5 airwaves, along with local news, useful information, and plenty of useless music trivia. (I can’t help it! I have an encyclopedic knowledge of music, sorry!) I’m an Auburn grad (War Eagle) with a solid background in radio and TV. I live with a smokin-hot husband, two dogs named Ellie and Barkley, and two sons, whom you’ll occasionally hear me refer to on the air as Thing 1 and Thing 2.

I love Auburn football and Major League Baseball, and have actually watched a game in every MLB park, which is one of my favorite accomplishments to date.
